Hi, I am new to this community. I have been suffering from Crohn’s since 2019 and recently my previous medication has stopped working effectively (imraldi) and I am being moved to Upadacitinib.
Reading online there are a lot of possible side effects and it is certainly a bit concerning.
Have any of you been on this medication before and what were your thoughts?
I belong to another forum here in the US & we are seeing success with both crohns & UC. Like any medication they all come with potential side effects. I have you have a talk with your dr. Good luck.
Hi, my son has been on upadacitinib for his UC for over 18 months now and the only side effect he has encountered is some slight acne across his nose. He had never suffered with spots before then, so this was definitely associated with starting this medication and it is still continuing 18 months on. Apart from that though, he had had no issues at all, and his UC had been fully under control for the whole of this time. From our experience I would say it's been very positive starting Upadacitinib and, like with all of these meds, you would have the standard 3 monthly bloods taken to check everything was as it should be.

No problem at all. Obviously everybody's journey is different but my son (who is also 24!) is really happy he got offered this.
