So I’ve had my Colonoscopy today and was all clear so they have told me to wait for my small bowel MRI results and they also took some biopsies I’m feeling pretty frustrated as I was sure they would find something today! Now I feel like I’ve been feeling sick for months and nothing is actually showing up! My bloods showed high inflammation and so did my calprotectin levels of nearly 500 but that was a month ago and I’m now feeling much better! Has anyone been diagnosed by biopsies or MRI?
An update on colonoscopy : So I’ve had... - Crohn's and Colit...
An update on colonoscopy
Hopefully I can give you an answer later today as I get my biopsy results back, my scope was clear as well but calprotectin was nearly 600 so I’ll let you know what they say
Oh please do! It’s been so bloody frustrating! Have you had an MRI too?
Tell me about it. I’ve been waiting since feb for all this, Colonoscopy was done 9 weeks ago and this is me just getting biopsy results. Not had an mri no, hopefully I don’t need one and get answers today!
When did you get your mri?
Hi ~ I am insane situation as you and rosiesdaddy. Calprotectin was 600+, colonoscopy was clear, biopsy results too 3 weeks and they were clear too. Waiting to hear when small bowel mri will be ~ they are currently retesting calprotectin levels to see how they are currently but I feel a million times better than I did so guessing they are considerably lower. Hope you get some answers soon, the waiting is hard going at times x
I feel much better too so I’m annoyed it’s taken so long to get all these tests done! They don’t seem to be giving up on me yet though luckily! Think my next step is the capsule endoscopy if everything else is clear! Don’t see the point of doing another calprotectin test when you’re feeling better! Soooo frustrating! X
My symptoms were never typical ibd, I just felt awful, was massively dehydrated, felt undernourished, headache, eye ulcers, pressure under left rib cage and against left hip.... but at the same time all this started I had a kidney infection that caused other symptoms. Doctors couldn’t work out what was wrong so basically tested me for everything and found the high calprotectin ~ it wasn’t expected! Therefore I think because my symptoms are out of the ordinary they want to keep an eye on what’s going on! I’m glad you are feeling better and that they are continuing to run tests, hope the waits aren’t too long in your area!
