I DID IT! My first 5km run! :-)

I actually did it!

I ran for 5.08km in a time of 37 mins and 9 secs.

Now I'm well aware that my pace is never going to set the world on fire, but considering I couldn't even run 5m before I started the C25K 12 weeks ago, the fact that I have just run 5km is a huge achievement to me. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits - not sure I'll ever run again at the mo as my legs ache like hell! - and so glad that I took this on.

Thank you to all who have commented and advised during this process, I shall keep blogging as I know there will be plenty of bad runs along the way too, just how life is.

And good luck to all of you still doing the plan - it really does work, stick at it and you will get there.

:-) xx

Congratulations bexbridge, thats a good time for your first 5K, you will be able to work on improving your time now. Have you tried a Parkrun, that can be a great way to do it, check out their website and see if there is one close to your home. parkrun.org.uk

Well done - really good time too! :)

As oldgirl says, you can work on improving your time if you want to now - and part of that can be having some slower runs mixed in for variety and stamina, and enjoyment too! Parkruns are definitely a good thing to get involved with - very friendly and encouraging.

Very well done Bex! It's a great feeling isn't it when you reach that magic point for the first time :) Enjoy the moment, rest the legs and enjoy your running :)
