Well I did it - my very first run!!

Day 1 Week 1. I was waiting for it to become dark before I set off! I finished my second run and I thought I can’t do this I will never get to the end at one point I felt sick, I slowed down a bit after that (though I was at snail’s pace as it was!).

I just kept thinking about all the things in life that I’ve had to work hard for to make my life better and it spurred me on to keep going.

Funny as hard as it was I am feeling like the cat that got the cream! Early days but I’m going to keep at it.

Yay! Well done for getting out there- that’s the hardest part conquered already! Take your rest day, stay hydrated and let us know how you get on! Happy running!

Well done! Drink plenty of water on your days off to avoid stiff legs and stitches.

Well done. That’s the hardest part out of the way and now you can build on that each time you go out. 👏🏃‍♀️

Great for getting started keep remembering that feeling of when you complete a run. Good luck 😊

Well done!! I think your body can do a lot more than your mind thinks you can. I always told myself if I can complete the one before then the system thinks I can run the next one, and the system knows! Good luck in your journey.

Brilliant - very well done! I felt exactly the same in week 1 - even remember getting my other half to pause the app so that I could sit down for a bit!! Delighted for you for getting out there. By the way any time I feel sick (and I still do after four years) it is always because I am going too fast so I just slow down a fraction and take a few deep breaths - settles things fairly quickly! Looking forward to seeing your progress. One motto I love is - If it was easy, everybody would do it! It will be hard, but it will be so worth it! Best of luck.

Massive round of applause from me! The first run is definitely the hardest but now you know you can do it so keep going. I look forward to hearing about your next running adventure 👍😁

Keep at it PoppetPandy ,because you can do it . It is soooo rewarding when you finish a run and that feeling only gets better the more you progress through the program. I start week 7 today and still finding it a challenge but I'm enjoying it so much . Good look with the rest of the journey ✌

Well done you! The first step is always the hardest. I remember feeling exactly the same way. It doesn’t matter how slow you go as long as you keep going. Good luck. 👍

I remember my first run and gasping to my daughter “ is it 60 seconds yet? “ “ no. It it’s 19!!!!” Arggghh! But it does get easier and now I say things like “ I only did 5k today”.

Fantastic, you must be super pleased to have got that first one out of the way, putting your trainers on and getting out there is the hardest part. All the little niggles like feeling sick etc will go in time so keep at it :)

Well done, exactly how I feel when out! I have just finished the week 1 runs. Definitely helps to run slowly, look at the Japanese slow running on you tube it's helped me. As everyone keeps saying drinking more water squash seems to help. I had to leave 2-3 days between my first and second runs.
