I have just finished W5R1 and I'm so happy to say that I can now run faster than I walk Never thought that would happen. I usually walk 6km/60 mins and at the beginning I was so slow at running. Now I run about 6k/ 54mins! I know it still isn't fast but I'm so happy there is an improvement. I hope with time it will get better.
My first run of W5 was great....my breathing was good and my legs didn't hurt. I also noticed that I recovered faster in the walking stage. Now I have to mentally prepare myself for the biggy on Saturday: W5R3
I can't believe I've got this far and that I'm still enjoying it....I'm even thinking of going further after graduation.....that wasn't originally the plan but I'm hooked. I hope everyone else has a good week and I'll keep you posted about R2 and R3

I track my runs and runs on runkeeper and I know exactly how you feel :-). I did wk5r1 today and it did feel good. I think I could have run for a bit longer so will see how it goes next time I go out, hopefully on Thursday. I'm starting to believe that I will be able to run 5k soon! Good luck with the rest of this week.
That's great! I remember that feeling well, probably because it wasn't that long ago. No need to worry, your speed will keep improving as you get fitter.
