W3R1: Failed! Booohooohooo...

I was feeling really good after completing W2 and the 90 second runs. W2R1 was very hard but the two following runs were really great and had me feeling very positive about W3. Yet today I simply couldn't complete the last 3 minute run at the end of the workout. I failed by...10 seconds! The workout went very well up to the last 3 minute run and I was confident I could make it. But I couldn't sustain it to the end, I completely ran out of breath. To make things worse as I started this last run a strong rain shower started pouring down. Aaaargh! I'm revolted with myself.

That's not a fail, that's a first attempt!

I've just done the same run and fell short of the first 3 min run by 4 seconds, then had to keep stopping for a couple of seconds here and there during the second 3 min run. I added a bit on at the end to make up for it,

But you know what? We've both just run continuously for 3 times as ling as we did 2 weeks ago. That's not failing; that's progress.

You should feel pleased with yourself!

Try not to get upset and look at it as you just ran in the pouring rain. Give it a go next time and I am positive you will ace it! Maybe you were running a bit faster then you have been, many things can lead to you not finishing. The important thing is to stay aware of what you have achieved to this point and to continue forward. We all have a bump or two along the way, which I feel makes us all that much more appreciative of our accomplishments. Good luck next run! Gayle

Missing off ten seconds is hardly failing. Anyway, the f word doesn't exist on here, unless you stay on the couch. Bet Gayle's right and you were going a bit faster.

You're still making progress, and that's what is important, not the details. :)

Revolted is a bit strong isn't it....for 10 seconds! :O Put it behind you and carry on; you will do this!! The "F" word is banned here BTW! ;)

You're right guys. As Buffster said I'll look at this as a first attempt. No more "f" word then! Was frustrated to miss the goal by 10 seconds but Thursday will be back at it. In the meantime, back at my couch... watching Real play Man Utd!
