DID IT DID IT DID IT !!!!! Week 5 run 3, reading the blogs saying best to go at a slower pace really helped. Set off going to do week 5 run 2 this morning (for the 4th time!) .... started the podcast and after a couple of mins, as I was looking further down the road, sun shining .... open road ... I thought, I can do the dreaded one ... give it a go. Just do it! So changed to W5R3. Couldn't believe when Laura said 5 mins was up. Took it real steady. What I enjoyed was the continuity ... no stopping and starting. Really struggled with my breathing in the early weeks, puffing and panting ... just can't believe the improvement. Having lost over eight stone in weight over the last 3 years ... now doing a bit of running which I am thoroughly enjoying (it is a great challenge) ... life is wonderful. Enjoy all your runs tomorrow!!
DID IT!!!! Week 5 run 3: DID IT DID IT DID... - Couch to 5K
DID IT!!!! Week 5 run 3
That's fantastic! What an amazing achievement, the life size photo of you is such a good idea and look at your shapely pins now! Congratulations and keep blogging
Thankyou! I'm so chuffed. This running is really quite addictive isn't it? My cardboard cut out of when I weighed 18st 4lb now lives under the bed!! Keeping fit now is a hobby - instead of eating loads of fatty food! I've set myself a challenge and entered the local Race for Life 5k run in July at Lancaster University. I've never run before in my life. The Couch to 5k is brilliant. I've been attending local exercise classes (Rosemary Conley!!) for three years and it's amazing the affect running has on the body ... ie eating the right foods to give you energy. I love the music which is played after the eight minute runs (W5R2) - it has me in tears everytime!!
Hey well done! I've just done week 5 run 1 this morning and I'm getting a bit nervous about later in the week so your inspiration came just at the right moment for me!
Wow that is completely amazing. If you can do that you are strong willed and will ace this program. You have found your pace now so stay with it and just focus on completing the runs no matter how slowly and your confidence will build. Very well done on your weight loss....I bet you feel so much better. I am very overweight so you have completely inspired me it Can be done!
Best wishes for your further funds

Congratulations! I have just said WOW at your picture and I wish my legs looked like yours!
After doing three years of Rosemary Conley exercise classes and now started running just before Christmas, what I have noticed is how much more stamina I have in classes. I've been hopping about like a little bunny at my class this morning. Anyone about to do the dreaded Wk5 run 3 - just take it easy. I worried about that run for days and when I actually got round to doing it it wasn't anywhere as bad as expected. It was actually easier than the 2 x 8 min runs. Each milestone is such an achievement - you are so pleased with yourself. I've been in tears many a time! (with happiness!)
Week 6 run 1 this morning with a colleague - went ok. Lovely run from the back of Happy Mount Park Morecambe, around Bare and on the prom. Nice to vary the place you run and I mostly run on my own, so nice to have company. Lovely car drivers today ... when running across road ends ... all let us go across! Must have been the smile I gave them!
