Week 5, Run 3

Not to be beaten by a cracking headache, I took some painkillers this morning and set out on week 5 run 3. The most important run of c25k? I knew if the headache beat me I would be in serious doubt about my ability to complete this running lark, so it was a test of some kind that's for sure.

Well, to cut a blog short, I finished ok but was nearly sick! Guess it was the painkillers sludging about in my stomach. The feeling of satisfaction didn't come for a few minutes but slowly and surely a little smile crossed my face....I had done it! I feel very proud of myself!

Maybe it was the stress of worrying about this wretched 20 minute run that gave me the headache, but it's easing now and I can relax in the knowledge that it's done. Yippee!

Well done Petal. Others say this is the Gateway run and you can complete the program. Now get some toast or something to sludge up that paracetamol and focus on Week 6. This time next week you will have done 25 mins, imagine that! You will! Its all mental from now on, try not to let the demons tell you cant do it.

Well done!! Yes - for me this was definitely the hardest run of the whole programme. In fact week 5 was easily the hardest week, so well done again!!!

Hope the toast made you feel better :-)

Thank you. I know I can take whatever comes in the next 4 weeks, and having put the work in and coped with everything so far, I feel quite positive (and happy!). Lots of toast, lots to drink (and a little kip!!), and I'm well recovered!

Tessie - lots of luck for your week 5, if you've enjoyed the first 4 weeks, you'll be fine, remember 'slow and steady'.

Well done! I was especially interested to read this as I am on W4, and am actually excited about my W5R3 coming up next week - I can't wait to see how I get on with it! I'm not dreading it, mostly due to all the inspiring bloggers on here. Congrats again!
