Week 5 run 3 smashed!

Hello everyone! I can't believe that I've just managed to run for 20 minutes without stopping. I feel on top of the world!

I was feeling pretty anxious about it and then when I started reading about some other people's experiences I felt even worse but I went out, determined, and did it!

There were some great tips on here such as counting slowly back from 100 which really helped and took my mind off things. I promised myself that I wouldn't look at the clock which certainly did help as did focussing on my breathing.

I'm amazed that 5 weeks on I've got this far and am feeling so positive about it. I've had some crappy runs and I'm sure they'll continue but at the minute I get why running is addictive and so pleased I took the plunge.

If you are at the start of week 5 and feeling like I did about run 3, trust in your training, trust in you and trust in those legs to get you through it!

I've just completed that myself, I do admit I had to stop to walking pace a couple of times just for a few seconds though and I carried on so I'm not beating myself up over it. It is a remarkable achievement for me considering I was struggling with the 1 minute runs over a month ago, best of luck with week 6 mate.

Thanks for comment about looking at the clock. I have been using a stopwatch since week 3 to keep me going when I think I cannot do anymore. Looking at W5 which is coming up might require a different approach!!
