Last time out I got to w9r2 before disaster hit - twisted sprained ankle in a netball match. 2 months and a stone (yes - that was some xmas) heavier, I turned back to Laura to ease me on the way to fitness again.
I don't know if it is the extra weight or the winter weather but it seems so much more like hard work this time; the free nike + app confirms my suspicions that in my fights with gravity on my local hills the new ring of blubber is a significant drag factor! . However, I now know that I do love running and hated being forced into being a couch again. I am amazed that I am gagging to get outside and to stagger about on the local roads regardless of the weather. What is that all about? Last winter, I would have laughed at the thought of voluntarily stepping outside the front door in January even to do the bins.
After a suitable rest, and starting again at w5r1, I have wobbled my way to w8r1 this morning. Fingers crossed that the finish line is not denied me this time.....
Of course you will Lucy! You made it this far! That finish line is waiting for you, don't worry about how long it takes you to cross it, as long as you get it done. Wishing you a bright running future! Gayle
