2018 graduate Best thing I ever did.

Hi! I haven’t been on here for a very long time but I really want to say something that might help some people.

At 55 I started C25K having never run more than a minute without feeling sick.

I stuck at it from January 2018 and graduated late March I think.

I ran 5 park runs but didn’t get faster than 38 minutes and sort of gave up because I hated being slower than most.

But, C25K unlocked something. I realised I actually enjoyed feeling fit. And now I’m training for a 26 mile charity walk which is turning out to be a fantastic way of maintaining my fitness.

I walked 21 miles yesterday with hardly any problems and I’m feeling confident about my charity walk on 13th July in Ullswater for Macmillan.

This forum was amazing.

I used it all the time back then.

It helped me realise my potential.

To anyone out there who may be feeling a bit doubtful or wobbly...? Stick to the plan, trust it without doubt (it works) and talk to others on here because they know what you know.

So this is just a big THANKYOU to C25K for setting me on the right path to fitness and, like the NHS, is possibly one of the most useful organisations you will ever encounter. 😊

Glad you’ve found something that suits you! And it’s wonderful to feel fit, isn’t it? I relish every time I leave the youngsters behind when going up a hill and love the way running seems to fend off lurgies. I’m a pretty slow runner too, but I’m not competing with anyone, so I don’t really care.

Hope lots of people read your story!

Yes I just want the doubters to read this and be encouraged.

I stuck at nothing before this!
