Have done C25K all alone, running in local parks, kept it up even through sleet snow and wind, one 4 week break after daughter tried to kill us all crashing her car back so Novemeber was written off, but started again on week 3 in December and here I am!
So today week9 run1 done; no stopping, fastest and longest time/distance, with warm up/warm down walks 4.7k so almost at the 5k goal - so pleased after I found week 8 runs 1&2 to be the worst out of the whole plan, much more of a mental thing than physical but I am not sure why!
Went out today as soon as I got up (been on night shifts) after I had eaten my compulsory banana; felt a bit tired but at least no sleet like Sunday afternoon. Got to the top of the hill I added into my runs with no stopping ( same as Sunday) felt like doing a pirouette to celebrate as it proved getting up it on Sunday wasn't a fluke; but could see some dog walkers so think I'll leave that for run 3!
Finished with a happy feeling, and looking in the mirror when I got in my face was more radish than beetroot so must be getting fitter! Looking forward to runs 2 &3 now, and GRADUATION!!! Amazing thought...

Awesome job, gives us novices some hope. I just did week2 run1 today and yes I too have been running in wind, rain and sleet. Today was a really food run for me.
You are fabulous! Massive congrats. You must be so chuffed with yourself. Its an amazing programme isnt it? I did W5R3 yesterday, no stopping, dare I say I wasnt even exhausyted. I shake my head in wonder. I cannot believe I was the same person just 5/6 weeks ago. I hope you carry on running and reap the rewards in health, wellbeing and fitness and let it change your life like I hope it will change mine. I will be rooting for you and will look for that lovely green badge in just a few days time!
Welcome Poppy! I loved the 'more radish than beetroot' bit.
I'm not sure I'd have got to week 9 without the support team on here - it's really impressive you've motivated yourself all the way on your own. With hills too!
Fantastc Poppy, well done, I love the idea of a pirouette when you finish, ignore the dog walkers . I did W9R1 this evening too, so graduation is looming for us both, I can't quite believe it.
I really like the 'radish rather than beetroot' analogy too and thinking about it that applies to me too - when I came back tonight my cheeks were pink - whereas in the past after exercise my whole head would be bright red for hours
now you've found the forum keep posting - I look forward to hearing about your next couple of graduation week runs!
I have really enjoyed the c25k journey and have inspired 3 other people at work to think about it too - one is now on week 2!
My daughter did start the plan with me but then got a job working shifts, and as I work different shifts to her she gave up, regrets that now, but we are going out on a bike ride together later today, so hope my legs survive!
It's taken me a bit longer than the plan as my daughter crashed her car with us all in it so I was very bruised, then a week later had an op that went wrong, so had four weeks off plan having got to week 4, restarted at week 3 and found to my surprise I hadn't lost much fitness.
The beetroot face has been around most runs; when I started out I always cleaned my teeth first just in case I fainted or something and someone would think I needed CPR!!!! Paranoid or what! But my other daughter has commented on how I must be getting fitter as the redness at the end is definitely lighter shades now...
Good luck everyone, it has been really useful finding these blogs and questions; lots to mull over; and inspiring to see so many success stories!
