I woke up with the sniffles and a slight headache, I think the lovely lady I chatted to on the course on Saturday (who was too ill to return on the Sunday) gave me her germs I wanted to go for another long, easy run, but spent the morning procrastinating and answering calls (how do people know to phone just as you put your running tights and shoes on?)
I did manage to run for 30 minutes, but it wasn't my most exciting or inspiring run. I felt like poo and my heart really wasn't in it. I wanted to stop by the time I got to 20 minutes, but I pushed on to 30 - the last 10 being the longest 10 minutes of my life! I think my legs were still tired from the snowy run the other day (I also did an hour of yin yoga that evening).
I suppose it's what I would have once called a 'bad' run, only I know now that there is no such thing. It was just a run. Another couple of miles under my belt and one run closer to a really great run. And the good news is that I think it chased away the germs, the nose and head seem fine tonight, although I'm shattered and off to bed.
Maybe a parkrun on Saturday, I wonder if I can blast that 30 minute target.......... I think I'll do some visualising as I go off to sleep!
Happy running everyone!
