That was tough this morning due to the humidity, but weirdly I really enjoyed it. At least it wasn't too hot. I stuck rigidly to the 30 minutes today but didn't go quite as far as last time but I'm really not concerned. What mattered to me was that I really enjoyed it.
I was worried after finishing C25K last Saturday as to how I would manage to fit in 3x 30 minute runs per week, but I realised that I wouldn't enjoy my runs if I put that pressure on myself. My aim will be to run twice a week on my day off in the week and again at the weekend. If I manage to get another run in then I will be really happy but I will not beat myself up if I don't achieve this. I want to keep running and if this is the way I can keep motivated then it is what I have to do.
I'm looking forward to my next consolidation run on Sunday. Hopefully it will not be quite so warm.
Good luck to everyone running today.

Lovely post ... I think you’re absolutely right regarding fitting it all in. After graduation I started to get anxious about getting runs in before work so I took the pressure off. It’s so much nicer to run because you’ve chosen to rather than because it’s on a schedule. Weirdly since I had a word with myself, I’ve managed to do three a week! 🤷🏼♀️
That sounds like a super attitude! I had to have a very stern talk with myself a while ago about finding the balance between pushing my fitness and finishing this programme and managing my asthma/severe hayfever with pollen being crazy high. So went from running three to four times a week (ie, every other day) to taking two to three rest days when I had to. Which meant it has taken me a bit longer to get through this programme but I have been doing it, and am hopefully going to graduate either today or tomorrow.
Thank you! Patiently waiting for my allergy and asthma meds to kick in, as well as my coffee (ha!) and shall be heading out! Puffers and hankies in tow!
Spot on Bloomsbury. Running shouldn’t be a chore. It must be so hard to manage when you’ve got the additional issues of hay fever and asthma-my son’s girlfriend lives with us and she’s really struggled. She dropped out of the programme ( we started together ) because she wasn’t enjoying it.
We’re ready for you with the party poppers to cheer you home!🥳🏁
Quite right! I decided to stick with 3 runs but go a little steadier for next few weeks. I was competing against my Endomondo times and getting a little creaky afterwards (arthritic joints eh!). . Oddly enough on both my consolidation runs so far, ‘taking it easy’ has been virtually as fast as flapping around puffing madly!
Well done! Great thinking re not giving yourself any pressure. It’s probably more enjoyable that way too. I still need to get out and do run 2 of week 9. Tomorrow in the rain me thinks 😉😊 looking forward to hearing more about the consolidation runs 🌈☀️
I’m exactly the same, times went out the door along with the last run. I’m just running for me now, plan my route on google maps and then go and run it, it’s so freeing 😊
