Are people actually getting out in this weather as I am now really missing the running as i haven't been on a run for 4 days. I'm now actually thinking of going to the Gym as i'm fed up and very addicted to the plan, never thought i would say that!!!!!.
RAIN!!!!!!!!: Are people actually getting out in... - Couch to 5K
RAIN!!!!!!!!
I borrowed my husband's waterproof jacket and managed to avoid the heaviest rain. I felt very pleased with myself for still going out when it was raining. Like you, I never thought I would miss running!
Out in it, drenched in it, loving it!!
Love your style Fraz73. I am one of those fortunate people who haven't had much rain.... or maybe I've just timed it right
I haven't been out since sunday afternoon and it is so frustrating. Started raining sunday evening stopped for a few hours late yesterday and currently its bucketing down and forcast to do so until 0500 tomorrow and the field behind my house has turned ito a lake that seems to be getting closer to my back fence! oh the joys. i am running tomorrow come rain or shine
See it as a challenge, but I'm a bit weird like that sometimes! Yes will be out tomorrow as I'm addicted I'm afraid. Wouldn't be fun if you were out for an hour or longer I'm sure as I'm only on wk4, not too bad. Good luck
Give it a go in the rain - if you don't like it, move to the treadmill, but you may find that you enjoy it. TBH, I figure that living in the UK means that running in the rain is going to be pretty much a regular occurence - so I'm going to embrace it!
I love running in the rain but i am thinking about getting a cap just to keep the rain out of my eyes
Ran this morning, once the warm up walk was out the way it doesn't bother me. However I must say that whilst it was proper raining here it wasn't monsoon season like some parts of the country.
Try it, worst that can happen is you call it a day and come home.
What a fab pic!
I love running in the rain, cools me down brilliantly. I wear a showerproof jacket to do my warm up then I tie it round my waist, I do insist on wearing a running cap with a biggish peak to keep rain out of my face/eyes.
I've been really lucky, I've not yet been drenched although this morning it started spitting on me. My luck will run out soon no doubt.
I've got my cap, my light showerproof jacket and am thinking of buying a cheaper pair of running shoes just for the rain (dont want to spoil my expensive ones!) but havent actually been out in it as yet! I have been lucky up till now but know for sure that day is just round the corner so dont know how I will feel about it but hoping it will be ok. Some love it, some dont but the addiction is definately there thats for sure!!
Rain? No problem. The worst that can happen is that you'll get wet. It's no big deal, in fact it's quite fun. Give it a go, you'll probably enjoy it.
After all your encouraging comments, I decided that i was running come rain or shine as i was probably being a wimp. I ran WK5 R1 today and enjoyed it. It felt slightly easier today but that is probably due to changing my route, no hills, luckily no rain and i was not pushing a pram of which is usually the case.
Thanks everyone !!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone thinks I'm mad for running in the rain, but like you I'm addicted to it, gives you good practice for the winter.I also found varying my route helped. Go for it
