I don't know about anyone else, but even though I've managed to complete the first 7 weeks without any major disasters, I still get very nervous before I start each run. Each time I finish a run I am 'buuzzing ' that much that I can't wait to get on with the next. However once I've had a days rest I always feel quite tense and am almost reluctant to start running again for the fear of something going badly wrong. I know this must sound a bit daft but I can't help it. Anyway, its rest day tomorrow and then week 8 here I come.
Just completed W7R3 but I'm still very nervous... - Couch to 5K
Just completed W7R3 but I'm still very nervous before each run!
Runner's high, all those endorphins running round your body, yes I know that feeling. Also the trepidation of 'when I step it up to the next week's runs will I manage?' I know that feeling as well, and I've only just completed W4.
Glad I'm not alone! Good luck on your journey, nerves and all! Just wish I had a remedy for us both. Perhaps someone out there has some suggestions?
I'm only just starting to shrug this feeling. I laugh when Laura tells me that I'm now a proper runner as it still hasn't sunk in (I only graduated just over a week ago). I have a mix of wanting to get out there but not wanting to fail. So I don't have any advice but it's nice to read that I'm not the only one!
I know that feeling, I graduated at the weekend and just thinking about my first post grad race on Tuesday I am getting it.Good luck,
I am always really nervous before each run and get more and more worked up on the 5 min warm up walk - I am always convinced It'll be a disaster (and to be fair it sometimes is!)
Don't know how to overcome to nerves, I'm sure they are holding me back - you seem to be doing really well though
W7R2 here, and exactly the same fears
I've not failed yet though, so just trust yourself and go out and do it.
