I did it; I did it; I graduated yesterday at the York Park Run 5K circuit. Can't believe how far Iv'e come in 9 weeks nor how much I've improved in the last 2 weeks. Did my first PR two weeks ago 45.36 and I had to walk a bit but yesterday I ran all the way in 41.03 - thats a massive improvement of 4min 33sec less by my calculation. Not bad for a 60+ I think and a gal who always said she never ever could run. Well I can thanks to the support of my friends and Laura. If you are at the start of your journey, never fear. Listen to Laura and go at your own pace and you'll get there. If I can - anybody can. Yipede doo dah !!
Next challenge - a small group of us are doing the Great North Run 5K race on Saturday 15 Sept. Doing this along with Slimming Word friends and the only downside being I need a new wardrobe (WHAT a pity) !!!!! Dropped two sizes already andt there's more to come.
These blogs are a great inspiration and we are helping each other along the way to a health, well maybe not wealth, but certainly happiness. Thanks for support.

Well done Jean-Jeannie, that's brilliant! It's worth it to have to buy new clothes! I envy you doing the Great North Run 5K, you'll certainly be a real runner then!!
Congratulations on graduating Jean-Jeannie. I just graduated today and now it's time to look to the next challenge. i didn't know there was a 5K in the Great North Run, that's brilliant. Hope you have a great day.
Congratulations to you too. Doesn't it feel good - yabadabadoooo.
The GNR 5K is on the Saturday, the day before the big GNR half-marathon on the Sunday when elite athletes and anybody else who'se up for the challenge take part. For me and my little group the 5K is an equal challenge and we are all looking forward to it (I think) !!
