8 weeks ago I never thought I'd still be going, yet tonight I finished my 3rd 28 Min long run - my legs are suffering a little, but will be fine in time for my Friday W9R1....
I keep trying to find new routes to run, my problem being one of, I work in a school and try to avoid running where I may bump into Students from school - though it was rather nice to be cheered on by 3 Sixth Form girls the other day with claps and shouts of "Go Sir!"....
I confess I've taken to using a watch to time my runs and then play my own MP3s, though I think I should have a listen to Lauras podcasts to see if I'm missing any useful advice..
I'm pretty sure I can manage the 30 min runs of Week 9 - it's what to do after that that I'm thinking about, and how to carry on running once winter arrives. I'm thinking that 30 Mins (and I'm already running the 5 Kms in 26 mins ish) is about my limit - I'm not sure I could build up to 10 Kms - or can I?
I'd like to run a 5K race if I can find a not too serious one thats not too far away...
Anyway best of luck to all who have started out on the Journey - just follow Laura's advice and you'll do it...

Well done you are already fast withe those times. ParkRun have loads of events all over the country, check them out. They are friendly against the clock and everyone is welcome. 5K runs every Saturday at 9.00am 9.30 start in Scotland. You just need to register first to get a barcode. Check out their website for an event near you. Good luck.
I'm only week 6, but my plan after graduating is to do some park runs and restart the c25k programme, but this time running a lot faster in the runs and build up speed that way.
Could you run before the students are up, start work half an hour later and finish later in the darker evenings.
Work with the PE department and arrange a sponsored event to raise money for something the students really want.... get the students involved and running too. Become an inspiration :o)
Well done, Stevetheb, really good times / distances too. I'm not a teacher but can understand your wanting to avoid students ( mind you, think that story about the Sixth Formers cheering you on is great ). I usually run at 6.30 a.m. and usually don't see anyone - and teenagers aren't often up early so that might be a good time for you. Good luck for tomorrow , although by the sounds of it, luck is not a factor as you're already doing the 5k! Anyway will be mentally cheering you on as I will myself through W8R3! Not long to go now.
