A Monumental Struggle.

A big thanks first of all to the people involved with developing and promoting this program. The concept is a very attractive one and works well in my opinion. I have completed four "missions" at only level one and think I will be at this level a while as I am really struggling. I run through fields and the extra resistance is what's killing me. I have to start running in advance of the promt by Laura otherwise I would stop altogether. I have been told to stretch more after running as I have been very sore the next day without doing this. I shall keep at it. Good luck to you all.

You've (in my opinion) picked the hardest surface to run on, can't you mix it up a bit? Field running is so uneven but well done you, you are truely living up to our name.

Thanks for your comments which I really very much appreciate. I realise you are right about the surface being a challenge and I will try and alter things a bit. I have a circuit now and will try and incorporate some hard roads into it. I also have problems with the wet grass soaking my feet. I think you are a great inspiration to beginners like me as you have achieved so much. All the best.

Gutsybear you say you have completed the missions. If so it's time to move on. TBH I'm on week 5 and I would say week 1 was the hardest. Move on and the missions will move with you. I also run on uneven surfaces and it was killing my hip. I had a gait anyalsis done at the weekend and bought new trainers as a result. It's like running on air now. Air that's full of smoke of course if you believe my lungs.

Thank very much for your greatly appreciated comments.

You were so right!

Last night I moved on to the next level and managed all the way through.

I feel a sense of achievement which inspires me to keep improving as much as I can.

I do not know what to wear on my feet as my shoes are always getting wet in the long grass.

All the best.

The running shop I went to suggested that if I was going to running in muddy areas through the winter I looked at fell running shoes. I'm not so didn't but you sound like you should. I'm trying to mix up the runs a bot now with some roadwork as I think come winter that's where I'll have to run.
