Anyone struggle with running somewhere new?

I’ve come to stay with my parents over the festive break and have been using the cycle track in front of their house for running. But twice now I’ve stopped running cause I’m bored? I’m on week 6 and up till now have been running a set loop near my flat. I’m still making progress but now twice I’ve stopped midway and redone it the next day?

Track running is far less stimulating than heading out on a footpath through the fields or woods and lack of gradient is yawningly boring.

Hills build strength as well as providing mini en route challenges.

I tried running off the track today in some fields near by and still was a bit bored - I think i like having my set route at home so I know where I am and it doesn’t seem endless!

We are all different, but I love exploring new venues when running.

Bored... ??? My runs are never long enough there is so much to see out in the fields and on the lanes...try some new routes...parks, canal paths.... head out at weekends.... when the runs get longer as mrrun says.. you will welcome a change of scenery :)

I you start doing longer runs, you'll defo need a change of scenery. Novelty is the key here.

Have you tried music, podcasts or an audiobook? I would love to run in a zen state of calm mindfulness but I struggle. As you run further you may need something more than the view to entertain
