Hi everyone, nothing spectacular to report really. Did my run at the gym and by the last 90 seconds of my second 3 minute run, the pain in my shins had gone. Makes me wonder if maybe 5 minutes won't be so bad next week?!
Also a tip for you guys (not related to running btw) - do not use out of date hair dye!!! I should be sitting here with a dark brown head when instead I am sat here with something that is as far removed from dark brown as you can get. Thank God I found my son's baseball cap for the school run!
On my way to shop in a bit to buy a NEW hair dye!!!

hair dye noted. I think 5 mins will be too much for me next week. I'm already at almost standstill pace at 3 minutes and I've just started getting the shins thing. Will see, must keep the faith in Laura.
Hiya Steve...would you wear hair dye?? Lol. I was thinking the same about 5 mins but after today I think it may just be possible. What day are you going to do the first of your runs? I can't wait until I can start to say I am enjoying running and its not such a trial. How about you?
Hi, Lancslass. how's it going with week 4? Each week I think "I can't imagine how I'll do this", think it's going to be a recurring pattern. Anyway, hope you're cruising through. Let us know.
Hiya Soozz, had a bit of a setback these last few days and haven't run since last Wednesday. Not sure whether I should do week 3 again before starting week 4 because my fitness levels are at an all time low! What would you do?
Hi, lancslass. Sorry, been away and off t'internet for a few days. Hope you're OK, not poorly or anything. I'm not sure what to say, except I'm finding w4 quite a struggle (not that I'm super fit or anything, quite the reverse) so maybe it's best to be quite secure with week 3 before moving on. It's probably better than feeling you can't do week 4 and being disheartened. I think I won't be moving on to week5 until I'm OK with week 4. Keep in touch, you know we're all here for each other whether it's for the good times or the not-so-good ones.
Thanks Soozz - hope you're okay. I did attempt wk4 but failed miserably on my first go. I did the first 3 minute run and then 2 minutes of the first 5 minute run, then I had to pack it in. The second time I tried it (on Wednesday) I did both 3 minute runs, the first 5 minute run and then 2.5 minutes of the second 5 minute run so I am getting there. I think what was failing me was that I stopped concentrating on all the other exercise I was doing before I started running (I was cycling at the gym for hours at a time and going on 5 mile hikes with the dog) so my legs were starting to get weaker. I'm building all that up again and I think it's helping. I'm going again today so I'm hoping I've got that last 2.5 minutes in the bag. Will let you know. Thanks for your support and I hope your running is going okay.
Cheers, Lancslass! W4 is definitely a killer. I have sneakily looked at w5 and to my delight the first run is actually 1 minute less in total - 3 x 5 minutes! I am not thinking about the end of the week. Like someone on this site said, life is a marathon not a sprint so if it takes a bit longer to get there it really doesn't matter! I suspect I am going to take months. Good luck for today's run.
