Penultimate week and feeling great!

I know everyone must have said this, but I cannot believe what I have achieved with the help of this program and this forum. As a size 16 exercise-phobe, it was turning 50 that did it for me, and gave me the boost to do something outrageous!

I have just done w8r1 and the end is in sight, but also the beginning of running habit, I reckon. I have invested in shoes, capris and tops along the way, and almost feel confident out there on the pavements although I must admit that I do prefer it off-road if the trail is mud free. I have even got techy with a mapping app on my phone along with Laura.

I did try a canal towpath last week, but there is something rather good about conquering a bit of an incline and be rewarded with a lovely decline beyond it which you don't get on a lovely level canal! And as I was on my own, was a bit bothered in case I slipped and fell in!

I have run about 3.5k today in my 28 minutes which is amazing I think! Oh, and hubby is a week and half behind me and feeling good too.

Brilliant, the end is in site and you will soon get there, and judging by the fact you have four runs to go and doing so well too, you will make it in style!

You and I are on the same wavelength. I was "outgrowing" my size 16s, and turned 49 in April. I said that I want to be fit at fifty. A couple of days before my birthday, I started a lifestyle change that improved my eating habits, and incorporated exercise. This program has been amazing, and a catalyst for my improved fitness. I almost needed an oxygen tank during my first week, and today I ran for over 4.5 miles. So I say, hooray to us fatties for chugging all of our respective junk in the trunks was we run to a healthier life.

Oh well done on that mileage! That seems to be in the distance for me yet, but I will be so chuffed when I reach 5k!
