Bit the bullet: wow i downloaded the app after... - Couch to 5K
Bit the bullet
Great - starting is the most difficult bit. You did better than me on my first run and now i'm running twenty minutes non-stop. Just trust the plan and enjoy yourself. Well done.
thanks was very nervous and was strugglin abit when a girl ran past me and gave me a thumbs up that made me feel good to what stage are you at? the plan is so good never would of been able to keep going without the encouragement she give you
Well done you, you have done the hard bit. Im only on week1 aswell, 2nd one tomorrow and looking forward to it now
Anyway well done and keep it going, nobody will look or laugh at you, that's what I was afraid of and I saw 5 people I knew, nobody laughed a me, just waved.
I am a bigger runner than the stereotype, but I now have the confidence to go out and do it. I started running in a lightweight running jacket but it was nicer the other day so I could just wear my footie shirt and it felt good. I start week 3 tomorrow, but I may need the jacket but only because of the weather now!
When i started Mel i was scared people were laughing etc but you get over that after a couple of weeks... pride at your achievements kicks in and you dont care about others. Well done for starting to do something so positive for yourself. Lauras encouragement throughout the podcasts really helped me out a lot when i thought i couldn't do it!
Well done for starting the plan - I was like you - am still a size 16 who seriosuly could not run 60 senconds my first week. Am now week 7 running 25 minutes - keep at it this plan is amazing and Laura knows what she's talking about so just go with it! Good luck x
Go for it, this plan really does work, dont get hung up on the weeks just do the runs as many times as you like, at least three though, some weeks I did 5 or 6 but I am in this for the long haul so dont mind how long it takes. I too am a size 16 with a huge chest and have aways thought I coudnt run but I have received nothing but encourgement from everyone I meet and guess what I can run, I have a good sports bra, nothing is going to stop me know. Good luck, stick with it it really can be done
Hi thanks for all your comments and encouragement tomorrow is my second run im still abit nervous but actually looking forward to it especially nowing that there are people like me in week 7 and 6 able to do it, it gives me a lil push to hope you all keep going to
Mel
Well, you've gotten the hard part out of the way, actually getting up off of the couch, and putting your foot where your mouth is.
I was a size 16 when I started the program 7.5 weeks ago, and struggled during the first week, also. In fact, I did it 4 or 5 times before moving on. Yesterday, I ran two sessions of miles each, and since I run slow that took me over an hour to complete. I also have lost about 14 pounds.
I rarely pass anyone. However, I am out there trying to improve my life, and can't be worried about what someone thinks about my efforts. So, I have no shame when all of my jelly jiggles with each step I take.
I recommend that you slow your roll, and find a pace that will allow you to successfully complete a session without hurting or discouraging yourself. You'll love the program and this community. They are both extremely helpful and supportive.
