So after a month of 'I really must', 'I need trainers', 'it's raining' I woke up this morning, got up, got dressed and left the house having not planned anything but knowing, when I woke up that today was the day. I walked to the top of my housing estate and then just put my earphones in and walked, jogged and puffed my way up and down pavements and I am buzzing! I don't know what tomorrow's aches and pains will be like but I am delighted that I have now started my journey, I have proved that I can do it to myself and hope that week 1, run 2 on Friday has me feeling the same way, any tips to help me ensure that this adrenaline rush doesn't dash off??
Bit the bullet (finally!): So after a month of... - Couch to 5K
Bit the bullet (finally!)
Keep running? Great job you!!
Brilliant!!! It really is worth the buzz when you have finished the run x
Well done. That first day is the start of a wonderful journey.
Well done, i completed week 1 run 1 last night and am doing run 2 tomorrow so we are doing it at roughly the same time. Good luck and keep us updated.
Run, post, run again. repeat. Oh and keep your kit somewhere where it nags you..., not so close that you fall over it of course, but close enough to get running guilt.
It's a well known fact that your running mojo hides near your trainers. It needs an airing to keep growing. And as mojo is (fake truth alert) a contraction of the names of Mo Farah and Michael Johnson, you don't want to be that runner that kills off a mojo....
It won't wear off, promise. I'm fuming with frustration because the pavements here are too icy to run after a day and night of light snow. Do get your gait tested at a running shop soon and get proper running shoes though. It makes the whole experience even better and stops aches and pains developing.
Believe in yourself and follow the programme exactly. It really works. Smile and enjoy. You’ve already done the hardest part - starting. 👍👏👏
