W3R3 done. Okay, now I'm scared...

I've finally finished week 3 (actually had an extra run with this podcast before half term, but figured I'd do the whole thing after the week off!). The last 2 runs seemed SO difficult though. I mean, I managed them, but my calf muscles were so tight, and my chest seemed to get tighter as well, so I'm positively terrified about moving onto week 4! Running for 5 minutes?!! No chance, surely! I'll have 2 rest days over the weekend before I start, but ahhhh!!!

Think positive thoughts, think positive thoughts, think positive thoughts...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well done for completing W3! Have you tried slowing down a bit? You are trying to build up stamina on this programme so you might need to slow down. There are lots of tips on here on recovery tactics etc.

Try not to worry about W4, you have successfully completed W3 so trust in Laura and her magic programme.

Good luck and keep posting! :)

lol...if you would have seen me those first few runs, you would have called an ambulance...but, yes...it does somehow come together. Make sure you are not neglecting your stretching...and stretch after the run, also.

Like JohnCassidy says, you can do it....

Me too! I'm starting W4 on Sunday. Leaving 2 rest days from my last run as my knees have been twinging a bit. I would agree on the above advice about going really slowly, I run at a snails pace which makes the runs much more manageable for me. Look forward to reading your success story very soon.

I was apprehensive about starting week 4. It is much more of a mental hurdle than a physical one, though. Just remember that lots of people who didn't think they would be able to do week 4 have actually done it. And, yes, slow down if you need to.

Good luck with week 4!

well done for getting this far, my calf muscles have ached on every run so far heh. I was havng breathing problems and was advised on her to slow down, I did and it helped so much.

I am about to start w6 next week and I have had the same feeling every week so far heh.

Thank you for all your replies and supportive words! I hadn't thought that maybe I was running too fast, in fact I thought I was running pretty slow haha! I'll try going at a slower pack when I begin week 4 on Monday :)

Part of me is really excited about doing week 4 because I know I'm going to be so proud of myself if I achieve it!

Good luck to you all, let's do this!
