W3R3 Done and Dusted!

This is really really strange, in an odd perverse way I’m finding myself starting to enjoy this jogging lark.

I mean yes my legs ache all day every day, I get twinges every footfall but I keep going, this is most unlike me. For example next week I’ll have my 6 year old son staying with me, I cannot jog with him and there’s a distinct possibility that I might not be able to find someone to watch him for 30mins 3 times in the week. I should be gleeful for the rest ... but oh no I’m actively trying to find a way around it so I can get out on Sunday.

So like I say this is really really strange!! 😁😁

I know what you mean! I was not a runner before beginning the C25K in May and now I can’t believe some of the things that come out of my mouth! I’m returning to work in the real world in September and I’m already planing how to fit my runs in. Who is this woman?? 😂😂 Keep the good work!

You’re not back yet? I only had 1 day off!

I’ve got to say my meal times tend to get pushed back till after my evening runs.

Good luck returning to work!!

I’m still working but working from home. The boredom has nearly killed me, hence the running. Thanks, looking forward to returning to some normality

Well done.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.

I’ll be frank I have missing out on the post shuffle stretches but I did do them tonight after I found the YouTube video on the C25K website But thank you for your help and support it means a lot!

I did consider it but unfortunately he’s got his own ideas about everything and I’d not be running in the right place, I should be in the bushes and then I’d be in the wrong side of the road and then he’d be bored or else he’d just run straight ahead and not stop, he’d run around a corner and not stop. He’s a little special.

Totally understand they our children all have special qualities.

You will pick it up as soon as able.

Running is very addictive. The fun goes out of it when you do too much too soon and pick up an injury. If you can figure out your zone 2 heart rate (conversation pace) and run within that you will have the most productive and enjoyable running. I started out running too fast.

Yes my W1R1 was far too fast. I tried running like a 14 year old forgetting that was 40years ago, I paid the price for about a week, I’ve slowed down considerably now.
