W3R3 Done!

I coped with this week better than I thought I would and bizarrely actually looked forward to doing R3 despite the windchill. I kept it slow and steady heeding MJ's advice and I think I could have run a tad longer after the last 3 min run and I was tempted but no I stuck to the plan! Let's see what W4 brings after 2 rest days.....I may not be so enamoured with the plan on my next post!!

I’m at the same point in my journey too. Starting W4R1 on Monday. Good luck! We can do this!

Yeah you will. You can do it... you can run up mountains one day. Only you can stop you... go and have fun with week 4... slow and steady as you go... love the fact you beat it... look at the end of that run you just did... remember the halfway point on W1R1... big difference huh? It’s only gonna get better.

I can't believe the difference in my attitude from W1 to this week! I'm still 'running' very slow and steady but I do feel my feet are actually coming off the floor now and not just dragging along the path! Is there a point when I need to pick up the pace or just keep it slow and work on the endurance?

Yes and no. Either way it’s not before week 9.

Run 30 minutes 3 times a week, change your life... extend it too... that’s the C25K mission, so long as you don’t stop then.

Run 30 minutes 3 times a week and then ask yourself what next. 60 minutes? Marathon? Just love running and staying healthy? Fast 5k? That’s the time to first even consider speed.

Now? Keep going just the way you are!

Thank you! My only goal is to be able to run 30 mins 3x a week to keep healthy. I have no desire to run races or fast 5K's .....yet..... 😉

Indeed... that’s the best aim... and then that will consolidate... and then, maybe one day you’d like another journey, you’ll have the base to do that... but nothing else will change your life as much.

I completed W3R3 on Friday and felt so elated - I was having trouble breathing after running 1 min in the first week. I’m making the most of the extra hour and heading off for W4R1 soon but I’m sooo nervous of running 5 mins but also excited to try it. It’s absolutely freezing here in South Wales but I’m hoping that will encourage me to keep running to get warm!! Btw, I’m 50 in May so another similarity! 😊

And another similarity I am also in South Wales hence the windchill comment! I feel the same, nervous, excited and curious. We can do this! Good luck.

How are you getting on? How amazing does it feel to be able to run for over 20 mins now?! 😄
