Week 5 Race 3 - Was looking forward to giving it my best, but...

...I have a flippin cold and a rough cough! :'( I don't know whether I should or even could run today, I'm so upset! :(

I've been reading blogs from folks that are at the same stage as me and who have recently completed this run and I really wanted to be able to come on here tonight and say 'I did it' or at that at the very least gave it my best shot lol ;)

I don't know whether I should rest up or give it a go? I've read about the 'neck check/test' but does a sore throat count as above or below the neck? lol! :D

It doesn't hurt when I breathe, it's just my nose (blocked and runny), throat (although slightly better than wednesday) and a cough every now and again. It's also raining pretty hard, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference either...?

I might just go out, do the warm up and then see how I go?

Advice?? :)

Don't know what you should do, but I thought I'd just chip in a few words of sympathy. If I had a bad cough I think I'd wait because my breathing isn't my greatest asset. Let us know how you get on. There's always tomorrow, don't fioget! Good luck.

Thanks nevertoolate :) Since I got home from work it has worsened so I'll give it a go when I'm better :)

Maybe dont go out if you feel rough? Snuggle up tonight and try again tomorrow :)

Hey hollyO, thanks for the messge :) Took your advice and have stayed in tonight :) got my meds, hot choc and shawshank redemption on the ole dvd player :D bliss! I do miss running though so hopefully I'll be better sooner rather than later :)

Just concentrate on getting better, perhaps have another day or two off and then go for it! Know it is disappointing ... but better to do it when you can concentrate on running - sure next week will be your week! :-)
