Practiced my 5k run today

I am doing Race for Life in Hyde Park 27th May, so today thought I will go there and practice the route.

One thing I did not realise...........its not completely flat!

Decided to do the permiter route and then map it when I got home. Plugged 34 mins of music on, and away we go. Sunshine and lots of runners, everyone passed me by, who cares am out there says me!

I use Laura's warm down to count the final 5 mins of jogging on top of the 34 mins of music

It was a really nice run, as usual the those first 10 mins always the most difficult and I feel so slow but somehow I cover the distance and don't stop.

So came back after streching excercises and mapped it, I had done 5.66km in 39 mins so think I will be okay on the day barring no injury before then.

Now going to try and run there at least once a week.

That's my plan too, to get used to the race for life circuit before doing it in July, so I'll be starting that next week and there are lots of inclines there too.

Well done on your run today :)

chuckle, if you've got the feeling racing is definitely coming... C25k is a hazard... You risk running interests beyond your imagination :)

Well done! Great to know that you are going into the run knowing that you can do it. I have wondered about walking or running the park run route in advance too but am frightened that if I am too slow it might put me off doing it and on the day I might be capable of doing it faster with all the other people around me.
