Time to try again

So i graduated quite recently, but i have just been really struggling. I find that what i could do a couple of weeks ago now seems so hard, I cant seem to run even 30 minutes now. So iv decided to go back and do week 1. I'm not going to redo the whole program, but i think the intervals in week 1 would be good, increase my stamina abit. Il do a slow jog when laura says to walk, then see if i can handle a longer run at the end of the week. Wish me luck! =D

Good luck Kitty...failed my run today...week 11 intended to do 5k and only managed 3.5k and had to stop after about 23 mins....have never failed a run before....horrible isn't it? Going to do what you suggest on wednesday and have a go at week one again....good luck to us! :)

That sounds like a good idea. I lost my mojo a little bit too a few weeks after graduating, so signed up for a 10k in late June as a focus, which has definitely spurred me to keep going (oops! should be out doing an easy 2 miler right now instead of browsing this forum actually, he he he!)

Hi, failed my run today too, first one after graduation, very annoyed, I was reallly breathless, had to recover for 3 mins before running the rest of the time.

Iv just finished the run, and i feel really great, it was seriously hard work but i pushed on through it, it gave me that sense of acheievement again, which i havent really felt since finishing the podcasts. Going to do the same again on thursday, so il keep you all posted :)

Hey KittyCatt you've made me feel much better! I graduated about a week ago and havne't wanted to run since! I found after about week 6 I never seemed to build up my stamina and always found it really hard. Gave myself a break of a week and did a 23 minute run last night. Feel like I'm getting back on track now but am not going to stress out about getting to 30mins/5k, just enjoy the acheivement of knowing that in January I couldn't run AT ALL!!!

Totally know how you feel, i felt that it was my pushing myself to get to that 5k, and then the dissapointment that i hadnt reached it, im gonna take it slower now :)

Yes it's a good idea, I had the same happen to me, I got kind of stuck and could only manage about 24 mins, I re did week one but slowly jogged and then sped up, it definitely helped, Don't lose heart, it'll come back :)
