started… again….

Well after much procrastination and a great deal of nervousness I have started C25K again having never previously finished it. Now aged 59, I am determined to do this. Week 1 Run 1 completed (and I didn’t collapse 👍). I have decided to post each time I run, mainly because I have had so much inspiration from others posting but also to hold myself to account by the community. Wish me luck all. I hope I don’t bore you with my updates 😀.

Best of luck. Posting each run is a good thing to do for accountability and also to allow you to reflect on what happened and how you felt whilst doing it.

Brilliant news that you've made that decision to start again! I'm now 65 and have just graduated for the second time so it can be done. The key for me is to go slowly and eventually you'll find a comfortable rhythm that you'll be able to keep up for longer. I have to admit that I'm tired after running for 30 minutes but once you've done it you know you're capable of doing it again. Good luck! 👍

Thanks for the advice and good to hear there are other mature runners who have succeeded so I have someone to aspire to.

There seem to be a lot of us mature runners on this site and some are well into their seventies which is good encouragement for me too! 😀👍

I started again after graduating as my dad was in hospital for a month and I lost the motivation. I seem to have rediscovered my love for it. I am 64 and never thought I would ever complete it once let alone enjoy it.

Hi....Yes...I am 74 - and have started again. I graduated a couple of years ago, then got serious back injury (fractures etc) and .... well, here I am. Did week 1 - OK. Week 2 - only did first run as the timings and days were off - now Week 2 again, done 2 runs and it's hard.... but it does end! Keeping on keeping on! Well done to everyone new and starting again!

I just started this week, just completed my first week. The last time I completed it was 8years ago. It feels really good to get back into it. You'll be fine.
