After my disastorous week last week was slightly dreading today but it was OK. I only did 30 minutes (did I just say ONLY!!!!) and it was very slow but I just needed to get round and get my confidence back. It really did set up for the day. Have given myself a talking too as I think I was getting hung up on distance but for the next week or so I will just concentrate on doing a set time.
I have a goal of Sat 5 May for my first Parkrun as a friend is going to do it with me. Something to aim for and keep me focused.

Great to hear you have got your fizz back, did you say only 30 minutes???? Don't forget when you started it was hard to do 30 seconds! Get confident with doing the time and then set off again to address the distance.
ONLY 30 minutes! I know what you mean, a mere 3 months ago the one minute runs seemed pretty impossible and now we're thinking 'only 30 minutes', makes me laugh when I find myself doing that. Like you, I'd had a bad spell of running but today I managed 33 minutes although one of my young grandsons cycled alongside me and pointed out that I wasn't really running, I was only 'jogging'.......out of the mouth of babes
Thanks for everyone's encouragement! Have spent the evening doing stretches and gentle strengthening exercises as right shin sore! Think this might have been why it's been so hard recently. Stretching, ice packs (have had to order some as using my wine cooler wasn't really working to well!!!) and my new sexy compression socks will hopefully mean next time I run I am ok
