Disappointing but you’re wise to rest up. Otherwise it could take weeks. You be raring to go once your better. Take care.
Take it easy, wrap up warm, lots of soup and rest. The more you rest the better you'll recover.
Good luck, looking forward to hearing you're well enough to get out there again
Thank you,
I am really frustrated as it seems like I will never get past week 4 😥 but I will keep going & hopefully progress forward to week 9 🤗
You'll get there, don't be discouraged. An awful lot of us take more than 9 weeks, the important thing is to keep at it, slow and steady.
Between you and me this is a tough time to get out - with cold and wet weather we get cold and the ground gets muddy or icy, not ideal.
If you have to wait a week or two to feel strong enough to try again the runs will be there waiting for you. It's worth leaving it until you're fully recovered before you try again. If you don't you'll slow your healing and it will feel a lot more difficult than it needs to.
Good luck, once you're over this nasty bug you'll be feeling like a new woman! 🏃♀️💨😁
Thank you, I love this group, always supporting never doubting!!!
I am going to wait until after Christmas & get myself fully pulled around before I get back on it.
Happy Christmas everyone 🎅🏻😋
A proper chest infection is a serious business and requires respect. It's not even just about what you can do, but the impact in the days after. Christmas usually makes big enough demands on us as it is (don't forget that all the cognitive work is effort too) I'd missed your sad post about your dog and I can well imagine that not being able to run, not being able to move forward with the programme is especially burdensome in the circumstances. When you start to feel on the mend, the tiniest gentlest of walks outside will be helpful.
(My forum name includes my dog's name. There are still tears when I meet another of her breed and she died in 2022. So 🫂 to you)
Maybe a few gentle chair based stretches when you feel better
Yep, I am going to take it easy & hopefully be back to running after the festive season😉
I think many of us would say that it is not when things are going well that makes us runners, but what we do about things not going well...
That's the great thing about the C25K programme - it builds in that this is not something that you do every day and that that is A Good Thing.
I have found this Autumn to be terrible for colds and flu!
Feel better soon...
It so has.... are you back on track?
Maybe head across to the S and F Forum for some S'Elf Elf exercise
I've not run since Saturday as Herself brought back a case of norovirus which she kindly shared with me so I spent Sunday and part of Monday running back and forth to the "room of porcelain fixtures".
It's most frustrating when you're part way through something and are seeing progress only to catch something that takes you out of the action.
I'd suggest when you get back on your feet you start again at week 3 or even week 2. You will have lost a bit of fitness whilst you're laid up (and festive excesses won't help either), so it's best to ease back in gently.
hope you get better soon, it’s terrible when things like this hold you back. I hope you make a speedy recovery and continue to enjoy the journey
There’s so much about at the moment! I’ve been off for nearly a fortnight with flu. You’re doing the right thing by recovering. Hopefully you’ll be back soon!
