Finished this morning with w1/r3 in storm darragh - wasn’t too awful. I am loving the early morning runs but sure am struggling with tiredness later in the day..! I am currently exhausted and it is 12 o’clock 😂😴🥱

Did forget to put Strava on this morning too - can you tell I am new back to it..! Although had recorded it on phone so popped it in manually 😊

Also stretching after - has anyone any good videos or tips on post run stretching? Thank you!!

Hope you are all well and surviving the stormy day and happy running 🏃

No I’m still on the program , up to week 7 now , it’s enjoyable even given the poor weather we are having at this time of year.

I’m glad it’s my rest day today though that’s a definite bonus but if it wasn’t I’d have already been out and done the run as I tend to do them very early when the streets are empty.. but the wind is really powerful at the moment a 25 minute run into a swirling wind must be very tough!.

Well done for getting out there in the midst of this storm! Goodness.

You can find lots of information on post-run stretches on YouTube and Runners World. What works well for one, might not work well for you.

Look forward to your Week 2 report...

Hi Miss Slinky, I do static stretches mostly for quads, hamstrings, and calves after a run since those are the muscles that will feel tight if I don't stretch them. I'm basically following the NHS Strength and Flex stretches (with the same Laura who got me running C25K), except I do them for longer and add a few things: a calf stretch for the lower calf/Achilles (by starting with a regular calf stretch but then bending my knee); a glute stretch (standing on one leg, bring the other knee up to your chest and hold tight with your arms); and a stretch where you stand on one leg and bend the other leg, pointing the knee out and resting the foot on your other leg. Basically, though, I try things out and do what feels good.

Thanks - that one hurt - last one you mentioned the other day…so may need to keep doing it or dig out the foam roller 😂
