My journey has begun ! I've embraced slow running and completed my first 8 x one minutes with relative ease.
It's probably too slow to even call it 'running' but I don't care - I'm off the sofa and that's my goal achieved for today.
I'm conscious of strain, sprain and injury after years of inactivity. Pace can always improve in time. But for now, I'm glowing after recommencing C25K and feeling very pleased with myself.

Congratulations on restarting C25K, today was the most important run of all - if you hadn't done this you'd never do the rest ๐Very wise to run it at your own pace. The only people who might be negative about it really don't know what they're talking about.
Well doneโฆand far better to keep it slow and build up your fitness safely - I think you are also far more likely to fall in love with running that way too! Well done.๐
The incremental progress towards long and fast running is magic. I started a few years ago, suffered a virus or two and a strain or two, which slowed my progress, but now I'm running every second day along with ParkRuns most weeks. It's all about persevering over the long term. Who really cares about how fast you are going? All that matters is that you are progressing and giving yourself a good shot at living a healthy energetic life.
You are a braver woman than I, Iโm a total clutz though so the idea of running in the dark (though lots of people prefer it) terrifies me. Iโm a hazard to myself in broad daylight never mind by torch light.
