So I finished C25k several years ago, and essentially stopped running after that because life got in the way. I started again a couple of months ago and am back to week 7
Main issue is that obviously my joints are a lot older and I'm sloooooow. But slow and steady is good, right?
Loving the new app, using Sarah Millican as my trainer.
Any other graduates redoing the plan?

For poor weary joints my oldest sister recommended glucosamine. I can't find any particular definitive evidence it works but it seems to help my weary knees (please note, I'm not a doctor so treat this with the necessary caution).
As you've done C25K before you know the drill. Hope you aren't running in the same pair of shoes as the first time, I did my tendons in by completing C25K in a pair of trainers that had been languishing in a cupboard for 10 years. Not advisable 😂
FWIW, Mr. Trailslogg, a biologist (so not a health professional either) swears by glucosamine for his poor knees. He did explain how it (supposedly) works, but in far too much detail for me to remember!
Hi, it sounds like we’re in a very similar place. I graduated in 2017 and then didn’t run a day since. Picked it up from the beginning again this August, and my first week 7 run is scheduled for tomorrow. I have new shoes and I think they have helped my aching knees! I definitely need my recovery days - not that I would dream of skipping them anyway - and I’ve also just started doing some strengthening work. I go slooooow too, and I think I need to go even slower still in order to complete these last few weeks.
I’ve switched from Sarah last time to Denise this time ☺️
We can do it!!🏃♀️ And then, keep on doing after we graduate again! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Yes me! I’m on my third or fourth time doing C25K in the last few years. Just started week 5 and running with Denise this time. The joints are definitely not what they used to be but one of the reasons I’m doing this again is for bone health. Well done getting to week 7 😀
…a run is a run…this is not a race! Slow and steady is defo the way 👍🏼
I started running with C25k for the first time since school the day after I retired. That was 4 years ago. Now life and stuff does tend to interfere, plus general lack of mojo…so I’m now on my 3rd time around!
Now I’m not the speediest of runners…in fact a friend walking his dog has been known to keep up with me 😂 …but I have reached 10k on 12 occasions! Anticipating W5R3 hopefully tomorrow 😊
It's certainly achievable. Just give yourself enough time to build up to it. There's even a plan which you could follow on the "Bridge to 10k" forum here.
Welcome! 🦋 It's great that we gravitate back here, isn't it 😊 ... despite the creaky joints! I started here 6 years ago in 2018 ... and am a bit of a returning returner! Currently at the end of W6 with Steve 😊 Found it tricky to adopt the slow n steady mantra before, but nowadays it makes so much sense 🙂 Enjoy! 😊🦋
