Newbie once again

So I've just finished W1R3 and rejoined the gym in order to get my weight off.

I seem to have spent the last 3 years on a cycle of weight loss and then increase gain. My motivation is on a go-slow and I struggle to enjoy each visit to the gym (although I feel great once I've completed my session). Any advice on how to keep the mojo going would be very gratefully received.

Without being facetious, try running outside in fresh air and sunshine. You are more likely to look forward to your workouts then, rather than in a gym.

As IannodaTruffe suggests, if it is possible.. the delight of outdoor running could keep you motivated more...:)

Cheaper than the gym... the fresh air will promote a healthier eating regime, maybe...:)

Post your runs, joining forces with newbies on the same week and compare experiences...keep it slow and steady..even as you go on varying your routes...:)

Try strength and flex on your rest days too and put in some swimming or walking maybe too.. that should keep you going:)

Hey helz, obviously you have some motivation here, as you've started again, so there's something that you keep bringing to front of mind to do something for your health. I used to be a gym bunny more years ago than I care to recall and loved it then, but no more. If you're not feeling the love when there, then IannodaTruffe is right, try elsewhere for your run. That may be your recipe for success. It's a bit of trial and error this fitness lark. Some folk here give themselves rewards for running as a starter, but there is a counter view that perhaps it may be better viewing the run as a reward in itself. Neither is necessarily a right recipe, they are just some thoughts for you. I hope you find your running recipe. Good luck

Thanks all. I have tried running outdoors but it was a non-starter for me as I use every excuse in the book not to put my running shoes on if there is the slightest cloud in the sky. I like the advice of a 'running recipe' and will trial both indoors and out this time. Appreciate the comments. Thank you 😎 maybe this is where I have been going wrong all these years.. trying to do it on my own.... so will definitely make use of this forum this time around 🤠

All good advice, find what works for you. For me I like variety> run indoors and out and sometimes with my son or other half and her girls, other times I like to zone out on the treadmill with some good music... find what works for you but keep coming here for that little motivational kick in the butt.
