A reminder popped up in my calendar - today is 3 years since those first intrepid steps for C25K
Since then I've run more than 1,000 km.
Longest run was 10k (if you look at the medal I got from the organisers, but both Garmin and NRC have me slightly less as I was so carried away I forgot to press start).
Most memorable run was a 5k through the snow in Russia before the current troubles started. It was -10C and I think I unwittingly did cryotherapy on my poor thighs which only had one layer of leggings.
I've run in five countries apart from the UK, hoping to make that 6 this week.
On reflection though, the most important run I ever did was Week 1, Run 1 of C25K. Without that one little run, in retrospect maybe the hardest run I've ever done, none of the other runs would have happened.
Thanks to the encouragement on this forum I've done more than I ever thought would be possible when I dug out my 10 year old trainers and tried to look like I wasn't really running 3 years ago today.
(Pic is of me setting off for a run with encouragement from some fluffy friends in Greece last year. This was the holiday where I forgot to pack a running bra so had to improvise with my running belt. You see, once you get the bug nothing can stop you )
