So tomorrow is officially the date of my 1st run but today was a run day so decided to make todays run the celebration.
One year ago I went out and did wk1r1 and boy it was beyond tough, 60 seconds running left me blowing through my arse lol but I did it and moved on to r2.
The weeks went by and and I hit graduation boom I'd done it but not without great support, motivation and advice not only from the mentors but also my peers and through this I made some great friends.
Since then I have made a bit of money for charity also upped the game and gone on to run the Derby half marathon and todays run was a nice steady 8 miles
This journey started partly because of the death of my mum which in turn led to me stopping smoking and in turn weight gain and a missing newspaper cutting but anybody interested can take a look back at some of my early posts.
For all you starting and struggling well trust in the program and trust in the advice of the mentors because slow and steady truly is the way and the road your going down will lead you on a great adventure and a life changing adventure
I forgot to mention I've lost over 2 stone, my blood pressure was high (it aint now) my cholesterol was high (it aint now) and the only medication I've taken is to strap on my running shoes and trot down that road
Happy running all and enjoy
