I've been quiet for just over a week because I seem to have picked up a knee issue. Let me explain. My last run was W8R2, I then looked at the gym plan I have and decided I'd do leg day on the next day (Thursday), then do the whole body plan on Friday and then complete W8 on the Saturday.
As expected my legs were a little achy on the Friday and I let the PT know, thing is, he switched the full body plan to functional training, which included quite a bit of incidental leg work, which I did complete.
I couldn't run the following day, I had trouble walking upstairs and had to use the bannister to help me.
Fast forward just over a week and it's feeling a lot better so I thought I'd try a little joffle.
Being sensible, for a change, I didn't try picking up where I left off, I dropped back to W5R2 with the promise that of I felt ANY discomfort in my right knee I'd stop.
So I set off and within 3 minutes I stopped the treadmill, I will give it another couple of days and try again, if it's still the same I'll head off for a scan and make sure nothing bad is happening.
Happy running everyone, yes I'm jealous.

How frustrating for you! Been there. Not being able to run as you want to is really frustrating.
It might be worth chatting to a physio about this pain. It might be that you’re “allowed” a little grumble as you warm up but it need to settle within a certain time. That was my experience. They might be able to recommend specific strength or stretches to help whatever’s going on.
This sort of thing is miserable but really common and long term it won’t stop you running and may well make you stronger. Sending sympathy for you now!
I'm just being really cautious, I know I've been putting my body through a lot of changes over the last year with the diet change, exercising, etc and I don't want to push too hard and really cause an issue.
I have access to private health care through work, if I can't do a 5-8 minute joffle by next Monday then I'll give them a call and set something up for a scan.
Mrs LeeU had an issue where her left knee would lock at a 90 degree angle, ended up in hospital several times before she let me call the private number, once I did she was in, scanned, and sorted out within 4-5 weeks.
Turned out she had a piece of cartilage hanging over the rear of her knee joint, once that was 'tidied' up the locking has never happened again, thankfully.
🍏😢 Oh so sorry and here’s you doing everything by the book! Well those runs will wait frustrating as it is! You are doing the right thing!! Hope it all heals up soon. Keep us up to date!
Injuries are a pain in the… well, all sorts of places. It’s impossible to know from where I am sitting whether rest or gentle exercise is the answer. I guess it’s either seek expert opinion or wait and see. I do hope the wait isn’t too long 😕
