I'm not full of advice and suggestions but.....how about walking it, faster for the run parts, it's quite a bit longer than previous weeks, I'd take two or even 3 days off to recover though before you try it again

Sorry to hear you are having a struggle. When I started C25k I was just wearing an old pair of sports casual style trainers and had problems with knee, hip and foot pain. Proper running shoes (Brooks Glycerin 20) with plenty of cushioning made a big difference. Wondering if footwear might be the problem.

🍏 You are right to quit and not run with pain! Good advice already given. Here’s a link to our strength & flex forum to get some good tips.

great advice already given - shoes, hydration and strength training all important. Also wondering whether slowing it down might help. We all want to go faster but I’ve had to accept I just can’t - yet. Some good posts on running advice and Japanese slow running are pinned on the site and helped me. Maybe someone else can send you the links but they’re here somewhere

All the advice above plus you should look at getting some calf sleeves and a pair of compression socks for after wards. I swear by compression technology. Stick your legs in a bucket of ice and water immediately after your run. Ice and compression will tackle inflammation and help with recovery. Well that’s my experience anyway.

Prevention is better than cure, so look at implementing the solid advice others have posted first.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
