I completed my first 20 minute run this evening. Physically it was ok, mentally I struggled for the first 5 minutes or so before settling in to a rhythm. The last 5 minutes felt great because I knew I could do it π
W5 R3: I completed my first 20 minute run this... - Couch to 5K
W5 R3
Congratulations π W5R3 is one of the landmark runs where all the preparation falls into place and people realise that they can actually do this.
Be careful with the interval runs next week, they have a habit of catching people out after the euphoria of completing this one.
Enjoy your achievement and good luck with week 6.
Huge well done you... on you go.. Week 6 does throw some folk...but it is all carefully planned to consolidate what we have been doing in the previous weeks
ππ Now you know the program works! The first 5 or 10 mins of any run unless tackled very slowly can feel uncomfortable. Start slowly so you know you can finish! Bear this in mind when you hit the longer runs after Week 6. Meantime well done! π
I completed the programme a couple of months ago and am now doing 20 or 30 minutes three times a week, and I feel just the same for the first 5 minutes every time. π
I know now, though, that this is normal for me, so I just push through it and enjoy the rest of the run.
Well done for getting this far. W5R3 is a landmark!
Youβve done the Glorious 5:3 !! Well done π
Well done, it is amazing that in just a few weeks you go from running 1 minute to 20.
well done
