So disappointed. Failed spectacularly on this run. Got to 14 minutes and had to stop as felt dizzy and needed to throw up. Couldnโ€™t get going again. Walked about 6 minutes and then ran last 4. So disappointed although not ready to admit defeat yet. Shall I repeat the whole of week 5. The other 2 runs I completed without issue. Or just repeat run 3 again???

Not fail, no f words here..... just blip.

Clearly all is not well, and that could be anything...the weather is very humid, pollen levels are high, maybe a poor night's sleep or not enough hydration.

Anyway.. recover from whatever ails you.. hydrate well, and when you are ready, then head out again... for this run....steady and slow and slower still if need be. You will do this, today was just not the day:)

So sorry it didn't go to plan - but please remember we all get 'those' runs sometimes. Sometimes its tiredness, the heat.. who knows? Bad runs do happen sometimes๐Ÿ˜• It frequently has no bearing on how the next one is however. ๐Ÿ™‚

As for how to move on from here - that is up to you but maybe when you get out there next - take it a bit slower. If your other runs have gone well, as you said - you are ready for this run and will be fine. Stay positive and good luck.๐Ÿ™‚

Sometimes it just happens. I was asked by a group of cyclists once if I was alright, I was sitting on a railing feeling bloody awful,(must have looked it too!) no special reason for it, the run had been uneventful.

Only repeat what you don't complete!.

Next time, ensure you have had plenty to drink the day before, go nice and slowly. It's yours for the taking ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you for this. Will take your advice and plan my evening meals etc night before I attempt again.

Were you running too fast?

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Were you fully hydrated? As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

Have a good rest day, hydrate fully, and approach the next run relaxed and positive.

This post about mental approach may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

Defo not running to fast. But donโ€™t think I had enough fluid yesterday or ate that well Thank you will have a look at the link.

You say not running too fast but can you answer the question Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Hydration is crucial, not optional, as a runner. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Definitely think hydration is a problem for me. and although cannot speak the ungasping sentences. I am very conscious to go very slowly. The link and support is very very helpful. Thank you xxx

As Floss says we donโ€™t use the f word here

Sounds to me as if you had run too soon after eating or were a bit dehydrated but the main thing here is speed, go slow and then slow down a bit more

tip from us is that the longer the runs were the slower we went so we could keep going, if Willow has faster music on we race off and are soon puffing like steam trains, i donโ€™t run exactly to the beat like he does but do move faster if i have faster music, during the longer runs i played real slow ballads and plodded along nicely

Good luck for your next time out
