W7 R2 - Back in the game!

Had worst run ever on Wednesday - ran at 7.30pm after a 12 hour shift still trying to break in fancy new trainers so had to use treadmill. Soles of feet were burning again 10 mins in and every step was such an effort! Yesterday I was ready to jack it all in- typical behaviour πŸ™„ Got up this morning - run day- decided I was having extra rest day because I was so fed up! Went to shop to return trainers and got new ones- not as pretty but at age 49 I need to grow up and get over that!

Exchanged trainers (new ones Β£50 cheaperπŸ‘) Came home and thought "right put them on and run". Did it - no burn - trainers felt great and although run was hard it was a good hard. Delighted to say I feel back on track- happy running everyone πŸ˜€

Fantastic! I'm sorry the fancy shoes didn't take but happy that you now have ones that work!!

Keep up the great work πŸ‘πŸ˜

Well dome. Am convinced that a good chunk of learning to run is just deciding to go and do it. I've had runs which I didn't want to do which turned out great and others where I felt I would fly and definitely didn't. But you know I don't regret any of them!

Keep on running

That’s great well done.

Reading the beginning of your post I thought β€œOh no! Wrong trainers!β€œ ...so when I got to the end I thought β€œPhew!!” The right shoes make such a difference. Go you, there’s no stopping you now!πŸ˜€

I feel so much better reading this!! Had a terrible week7run1 yesterday after a long day at my gardening job. Legs felt like lead and was very demoralised. Managed to complete but really unenjoyable. Will have a nice rest today and ready for action again tomorrow. Glad you got your trainers sorted!

I was so gutted Heather but honestly W7 R2 was completely different - enjoy πŸ‘

...Also, Iannodatruffe posted recently that heavy feeling legs can be caused by dehydration. Hope that helps. πŸ˜€

Think you are right. Probably was dehydrated after work. Loaded up on water before wk7r2 today and managed it with a spring in my step. Back on track! Thanks for your support.
