Just over two weeks ago I completed the Couch to 5K programme for the second time. The first time being over six years ago when I was 69 years of age. Because of illness I stopped running but more recently I thought I would like to give it a go once more. To my surprise I completed the course although I found it much harder this time. I was all set to increase the 30 minute runs to a little bit longer each week, but unfortunately the day after my final run I went down with Covid (the first time). It is now over two weeks since I have done any exercise and I'm not quite 100%. However, I do not want to lose what I have achieved and was wondering whether anyone could advise how I should proceed. I don't really want to go back to the beginning of the programme again. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I would try a nice gentle run and feel what my body is telling me. Take it steady and see how it develops. No targets, just enjoy. 👍

After being unwell I just go out, no plan, run very slow and gentle for as long as is comfortable and see how it goes. The first time it was over 2 weeks before I could contemplate running and I did 1 k in 12 mins 54 secs, came home and cried, but within a couple more weeks I was back where I started and feeling great. COVID is a horrible virus, take your time and you'll be fine.
