Well today I got up off the couch! I had to stop at the run after the half way mark... but for me that's pretty good going. I think I will do week 1 for 2 weeks...definitely out of breath.. but proud as punch!😊
Week 1 Day 1 (Kind of completed): Well today I... - Couch to 5K
Week 1 Day 1 (Kind of completed)
Well done for getting off the couch. 👍
Don't forget the rest days. You can do other things on them. Maybe a half hour brisk walk would help the running?
Have you found yourself a relatively flat course to run on? I made the mistake in my first attempt at C25K of finding myself in a graveyard with a little climb (about 6 feet) up a slope for one of the run sections. It wiped me out, leading to me finishing the session with a stitch, nausea, a cold sweat and palpitations.
Thank you so much, the brisk walk on rest days sounds like a good idea, Thanks. The graveyard sounds a little spooky.. lol, and hard work, well done for getting through that. I ran on grass on a flat surface as there were lots of dogs on the concrete bit and was scared I would get chased 😆

This is what you need if you haven’t seen it yet 😊
Hello and welcome!! Huge well done for getting started 🤗 you should absolutely feel proud of yourself, I know I was! Just go slow and steady, as slow as you can and it will help a lot. Best of luck!
I’m looking forward to reading about your runs, so please do post them here for us all to support and encourage you 👏
Onwards and upwards! 🏃🏻♀️🙌
Hey, Thank you so much. I did feel a sense of achievement, even though I had completed it all, I don’t think I can go any slower or I’ll be going backwards 😆. I’m starting to feel a twinge/pulling in my inner thigh.. maybe I should learn how to stretch properly. Thanks for the encouragement and thanks for taking the time to reply. I love this community .. feeling like part of the family. 🥰
A-MAZE-ING! Congratulations you have done the hard part…and the amazing part is, when you stopped you didn’t ‘stop’ ….you just had a breather…but you got back on it…and if you repeat week one twice, that’s ok because it will prove to you that your recovery after each one is quicker…brilliant…welcome to your new way of life! Have a read here healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
There’s some great advice from our beloved Tim
I repeated week 1 six times!!! I probably could have moved on a little sooner, but was happy to repeat til it felt comfortable and I felt that week 1 was a lot more exercise than I was usually getting. By week 5 of couch to 5k, I stopped needing to repeat weeks and carried on to finish couch to 5k. Some people are better to push on, even though it is hard, others suit repeating. Do what works for you and enjoy the fact that each time you will run a little more of it or the same but more easily.
Very well done Jam75- ... this community is like a family ... I only joined last week and already feel like I belong here! It seems like there is no wrong way to start (apart from going too fast). All the hints and tips from past experiences are so valuable too.
Look forward to following your journey with you! 🤗🥰
Well done 💪…starting is the hardest part keep it up 👍
