Hi everyone, it was reading these posts that finally gave me the courage to start the running. I felt self conscious. Yesterday morning (very early lol) I completed the first day. I was thrilled when I got the lion heart badge. I have the free version of couch to 5k nhs podcast with Laura speaking to me. Should I upgrade to the paid for version do you think I would get more?
Completed day 1, week 1.: Hi everyone, it was... - Couch to 5K
Completed day 1, week 1.
Well done you... I wasn't aware there was a paid one I think most of us downloaded the free podcasts, you don't need anything more. Good luck
Didn't know there was a paying version - the NHS one is free but there are lots of commercial ones done by other companies available. Most of us here stick with lovely Laura - she's seeing me through. Very well done on your first run and keep posting!
You don't need to pay for anything, except a pair of good shoes.
Well done Vanessa; you've made the first steps into a fantastic program! Keep posting and updating us with your progress and if you need any advice of encouragement along the way this is the place to come X
P.s you don't need to pay for any podcasts; the only thing you'll be wanting / needing to spend your money on will be all the lovely running stuff you'll want to buy when you get the bug 😆
Well done for getting started! Go slow, stretch, stick with the programme and you'll be like lots of us on here - somehow running for 30 minutes and not quite believing it!!
You've done the hardest bit in getting started and doing that first run. A big well done to you. This is a very friendly and supportive community and we'll be here with you on your journey, although you have to do the work by running!
Run very slowly, take your rest days and stretch. If you can, invest in proper shoes and a good sports bra and no you don't need to spend money or another podcast. Good luck!
Hi. You sound like you have the couch to 5k app that I began on as I got the lionheart badge. I began like that then joined Laura on the nhs podcasts. The programmes differ a little but get you to the same place. No need to pay at all. With nhs podcasts you get music which I find helps. Good luck. Keep posting!
Thankyou all for your replies and support.
Welcome to the programme, and good luck!
It's the best thing you'll ever do. Trust the programme, stick with it, take it slowly and carefully and you'll be at Week 9 before you know it!
Hi mine is the bbc one, Sarah MilicN is the speaker(others available) she is very encouraging 😃
