Awful run this morning.

Up fairly early for me to try and complete week 8 this morning, took me quite a time to get organised, was going to jogg between towns and then catch bus back home, set off on walk and Stu the stump did not feel right, but that is quite normal, did 5 mins walk then started the run, now normally after 5 mins things settle and everything feels ok but not this morning, anyway I carry on to the end of the run section, and in so in pain and have to stop and rest, pace slow, amount of running time slow and can not manage last 5 mins walking. Once I get home I look at all info, and decide Stu's padding is not right for this day, so I then plan the day for a repeat run at local athletic club in the evening. I even had a nap in the afternoon ( I am an old git by the way) . Went to club, set Garmin watch for week 8 and off I went, 2 runs in one day oh my gawd, must be a fail. Not no way never. Now this run was the most focused of them all but did I smash it, yes I did, Garmin recorded over 26 mins of running, previous best was 22. Most definitely winning at life, now for 2 days off then onto week 9.Then onto new leg, good gawd, I'm feeling like a kid at Christmas.

Oh that's inspiring. You came back from a really tough run and had a great run later. Good for you

Pete I was talking to a young chap on Couch to 5k Facebook group last week!

I suggested he joins this group!

He lost his lower leg to cancer and is hoping to crowdfund for a blade!

I mentioned that there are people in this group who like himself are getting back to running and would only be to pleased to give him a few tips! So keep your eyes open he may or may not pop up on here!

I would be happy to share my experience of C25K and leg loss with him, let's hope he comes on here and receives the same support that I have.

Awwwwhhh, “winning at life”! Great read! And on to week 9! Awesome! You probably know we have other runners and walkers running with prostheses (or is it prosthesis?). PeggySusi

Keep on keeping on! You got this! 💪👍🏽👏👏

Yes I know of a few others, and have become friends with Sue, over the last few years.

I am so impressed. And you are on week 8 too, I don't know how you do it. The hard work is behind you now on this plan. You really have got this and I hope to see your Week 9 run 3 post soon! All the best :)

Well done Pete.. you have incredible stamina to have another go on the same day, especially as I know you do long walks on the days you don’t run! I’d say don’t overdo it, but I know your determination will get you through it whatever happens. Wishing you the best of luck for Week 9 🏃🏽‍♂️🤗
