As I did on my first run I laid my running kit out last night before I went to bed.
This morning I was up at 5.45 and went out to run. The air was a little cooler than it had been 2 months ago and there was a tiny bit of mist hanging over the canal.
As it was my first run of the week my plan was to slow the pace down and not run as far as I had done last week. And certainly my first km was nice and slow. I knew the next one would be a little bit faster because of the terrain which at that point is slightly downhill. I was feeling good as I reached the point that I had in mind to turn around so decided that I would run on a little bit further to the place I had reached on Friday. By now I was off the road and running up a track and I could feel that my running was not as fluid. I went a little bit further before turning around, back through the village and over the canal bridge onto the road home. My pace always picks up at this point as it is downhill all the way.
In all I had run for just under 38 minutes. I enjoyed my five minutes cool down walk at the end. I am on course for completing the podcasts on Friday this week, the day of the Olympics opening ceremony.
