I'm back - again

Here I am again, after a four-month break. So I went back to the beginning again. Not quite as hard as the first time around, but hard enough to prove it was necessary. Now on week 4, and beginning to feel some of the benefits. The first time I did this was when I was sixty - nine years ago. I completed the programme and ran a 5k race for life. I kept going for a long time, with only small gaps, but last year was difficult and I kept having to go back to week 5, getting to week 8 and then stopping ... etc.etc.So - here I am on week 4 again. Just like one of the music tracks in the podcasts says "I always come back". I still can't say I like running, but I really like what it does for me. I'm more than two stone lighter than when I first began, two clothes sizes smaller, a better shape, and with lower blood pressure. Before I began I used to ache all over every day for no apparent reason - I put it down to age. The first few weeks of runs made it worse, but after that I started to feel ten years younger. I haven't got back to that wonderful feeling yet - but I'm working on it... I fully intend to re-earn my graduate badge this time.

Absolutely fabulous post to read! What in inspiration you are!!! Wishing you lots of luck with this stage of your running journey. Loads of us have started and stopped and come back again as life gets in the way. Starting at week 1 is such a good idea after a break. You’ll have skills and experience from before that will have helped you this time-plus being two stone lighter is a massive bonus. So many things for you to celebrate!

Can’t wait to pin that graduate badge on! ❤️🏃‍♀️💪
